Northcliffe Drama Club

Northcliffe Drama Club of Grand Falls-Windsor is a community theatre company that has been promoting, facilitating and, most importantly of all, performing arts in the community for the last 60 years.

The troupe has a long history; it was formed in 1949 and, in 1956, the Club produced the first Newfoundland play, The Holdin' Ground, to be entered in the Dominion Drama Festival.

In the 1960s, Northcliffe acquired its own theatre and, from its own stage, the performances reflected the community and reflected back to our community its hopes, dreams and trials. Northcliffe, along with singing groups, visual artists and dancers, were the cultural fabric
of our community.

Northcliffe has also been a strong supporter of school drama programs and a supporter and facilitator of the Regional and Provincial High School Drama Festivals. The group has also provided scholarships to those of our community who have gone on to study theatre.
