Off-Broadway Players

Since 2002, the Off-Broadway Players community theatre company has entertained an array of audiences throughout western Newfoundland and the rest of the province.

The group was founded by Troy Turner and a group of friends in late 2002 and elected its first executive in early 2003.

The mandate of the company was simple: fill a void in volunteer-led, community theatre, left by the Corner Brook Playmakers, when it folded in 1985.

Since its inception, the Off-Broadway Players has allowed its members free reign over the direction of the group, encouraging new works and an active membership in each production.  From the risque to the jukebox musical, the classic to the contemporary, the company has never shied away from a challenge.

Off-Broadway has been a mainstay at provincial drama festivals since it became a member of the society, and has won countless awards in all categories.
